second year for winter sport

It is the second year of me doing winter sport I feel confident of the park and I think we are going to do good because we are all team players and work well together.

only on Thursdays we have winter sport but the bad thing is that I have basketball so after winter sport i'm sooooooooooo tired. I all was get sited about going to winter sport because 1 of my beast friends are in my football team we pass allot we score allot and we are good at defence. 

what winter sport or sport on Saturday do you play?    

do you want to know how to stop climate change.

On Wednesday the 8th of may Glenn came and talked to us about climate change and how he has done something to try stop it. He started by getting rid of the plastics cups that take 500 years to dissolve and replaced them with cups that you can reuse and every time you get a cup for a sport game if you return it you get a dollar back.


but at the moment it is only at chch Stadium, horn castle Arena, Hagley Oval i think it  is good because it makes people want to go back and not leave   



what are you gonna do to help the environment?

Cross country did I make it into zones?

On Thursday 2/5/19 we lined up to go to Walter park the bad thing was that we had to walk to the park it only took 3 mins. When we got there the year 8 boys went then year 8 girls.  While thew were doing that We had a whole tarp to ourselves. I was reading a joke book to my friends.

We got board and. Aidan brought a ball so we started chucking that around for 30 mins then Miss Parker told us to sit down because our race was coming up we started to line up I got so nerves. We started the race I was in first until Ethan and Max came up behind me the first 500m was easy but I had to do another 300m the Oder went Max, Ethan, Mostyn, Me, Archie, Charlie.



At the End of the race Charlie and Archie speed up Max won then Ethan then Mostyn then Archie then Charlie then me Yes I made it in to zones and I felt tired but I was glad I tried and I am proud of my self.

The Predator

A low growl could be heard; a rumble that came from deep within the predator like a distant storm approaching.

With milky grey eyes like miniature moons, the cat began to prowl stealthily out of the tall grass spying on its prey waiting to attack at the right moment to get its tea and go back home to feed the little cubs.

kindness is the way of life

PBL - Term 1

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about kindness and the big question was: How can we build community through our actions?

First, we explored some collaborative activities and discussed how we could include kindness and build a sense of community through our actions at camp. Next, we were organised into groups where we had to unpack the above question. In our groups we considered how we could spread community and kindness through our entire school community. We decided that we would offer something that was free and would make others happy.

We created an action plan and started of by writing down ideas that we thought of then found the best one and then realised that someone else had the same idea so we joined forces and made kindness cards with lollies and we gave them out on Tuesday. I was not there on the day but I know my team did it good.        

Reflection: 

For our final product our group made kindness cards with lollies.

How did our action build a sense of community in the school we gave them out to the kind people.

I contributed by I held to put the lollies in the cards.

I think the PBL might impact on others by being kind.

What I learned about working with others was hard at start but then I got used to it.

  

PBL market day

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?

First we learned what STEAM stood for.
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.
Then; make a table that was able to balance MnMs for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because we had the experience to work together.

In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.

Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.

My team made this stress balls, lip scrub, and we did a game ultimate bean bag toss.

Reflection

My highlight from this PBL was changing group to my friends group because he was the only boy 
Next time I would want to come to the market day and not be sick.

PBL and Performance

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?
First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas. We read cultural stories from different country's  Culture is where you come from.
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read how Maui slowed the sun I have written my own legend called how Maui slowed the sun I retold the legend of how Maui slowed the sun in my own words.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organizing the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

For our production I contributed by dance i am in a battle dance and a victory dance.

I think the show might impact on others by being quite between songs
